Investigators probing the abduction of a newborn female baby from a private maternity hospital at Dayara Market in Musheerabad on November 11 go are planning to re-examine the footage captured in the CCTV installed at an ATM centre near the hospital.
“We have picked up several suspects and questioned them but could not get enough clues. So, we are planning to check the footage once again,” said Musheerabad Inspector G. Shyam Sunder.
The police had earlier ruled out the involvement of two women detained in Mumbai in connection with the case. The women were detained for their alleged involvement in a similar case that took place earlier in the city.
After questioning, the police let them off. The baby’s parents -- Shaik Sadiq and Rehana Begum -- from Bholakpur provided blood samples to officials of the A.P. Forensic Science Laboratory for conducting a DNA test with that of the body of a female infant found in bushes at IIIT junction in Chandanagar.
“We may get the DNA report within a couple of days and this may give some clues,” he said.
Another baby’s body found
Meanwhile, the police on Tuesday found the body of another newborn baby near the army compound wall at Humayun Nagar police station. The police rushed to the spot and preserved the body at Osmania General Hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy.
