Aarogyasri Trust to clear payments to hospitals

April 27, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - HYDERABAD:

With the government clearing the funds, the Aarogyasri Healthcare Trust will be disbursing a major part of the pending payments to the network hospitals in the State within the next couple of days.

Aarogyasri Trust CEO Dr. M. Chandrasheker said that a sum of Rs.191 crore will be released soon and the balance amount too will be released within the next few days. About Rs.250 crore is said to be pending. Each month the network hospitals are paid to the tune of Rs.48 to Rs.50 crore, he said, and denied that the protocols for screening cases was the reason for the delay.

He pointed out that the ratio of payment under the Aarogyasri Trust to the government and private hospitals was in the ratio of 30:70 currently. This he expects to change within a year or so with vast improvement on services and infrastructure available in the government hospitals so that at least 60 per cent of the Trust funds go to them.

Dr. Chandrasekhar also informed that the Trust has by itself undertaken an investigation into the recent controversy surrounding the operations conducted in Karimnagar and elsewhere on children and women. A comprehensive vigilance report on the issue has been presented to the Chief Minister for taking necessary action.

With regard to the ongoing tussle with the dozen-odd super-speciality hospitals refusing to accept the employee health cards, the CEO said a meeting has been scheduled with the representatives of hospitals with Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma.
