Transport Minister to seek Central assistance

HYDERABAD: Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy on Monday said he would go to New Delhi on February 8, with proposals seeking Central assistance on projects in Telangana regarding road safety and modernisation of Transport Department by leveraging technology.

At a budget meeting with senior officers in the Transport Department and the State Road Transport Development Corporation (TSRTC) He wanted them to make the Department a model for others States to follow. He also asked them to design new Transport Department office complexes in new locations by integrating a testing track and as for the corporation, he proposed an assistance of ₹ 140 crore for buying new buses.

Among those present at the meeting were Principal Secretary, Transport, Sunil Sharma and TSRTC Managing Director G.V. Ramana Rao.
