The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) said that the students and youth have rejected the TJAC’s protest on Wednesday and showed full confidence in Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s concern for them.

TRS party leader and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said except the activists of some student groups opposed to the ruling party, there was hardly any response from students.

He said the government was committed to filling up vacancies as reiterated by the Chief Minister several times and students have realised its commitment.

On the arrests of students and TJAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram, he said the police responded as a part of their duty to maintain law and order and there was no police excesses anywhere as being propagated.

People of Telangana have reposed faith in the TRS and the Chief Minister was well aware of it and all his actions were in that direction.

In a separate press conference, Peddapalli MP Balka Suman accused Mr. Kodandaram of misleading students, and said his efforts were rejected by them.

The response for the rally and meeting itself reflects what a flop show it was. The intention of Mr. M. Kodandaram looks like he wants to prove that the idea of Telangana was a failure, Mr. Balka Suman alleged.
