SCCL registers another high in production

it also recorded highest ever dispatches of 57 lakh tonne in February this year

Public sector miner Singareni Collieries Company Limited has set a new record registering the highest ever production of 58.7 lakh tonne coal and highest ever dispatches of 57 lakh tonne in a single month in February this year.

The SCCL had recorded 9.31 per cent growth in coal production compared to 53.7 lakh tonne achieved during February last financial year. The dispatches too showed 26.11 per cent rise as against the 45.2 lakh tonne during the corresponding month previous fiscal. The company had set a new all time record by loading and dispatching 41 rakes of coal on a single day, February 28 as also the highest ever dispatch of 2.31 lakh tonne coal on a single day.

SCCL achieved production of 541.6 lakh tonne during the 11 months of the financial year. This is 103 per cent against 524.4 lakh tonne targeted for the entire financial year. The company could surpass the dispatches target of 523.5 lakh tonne achieving 543.7 lakh tonne.

Removal of overburden

The public sector company marked yet another achievement in terms of removal of overburden of 31.23 million cubic metres during February this year as against 27.99 million cubic metres achieved during the same period previous financial year. In all the company had achieved removal of 287.57 million cubic metres of overburden marking a 3.16 per cent growth over the previous fiscal’s 278.7 million cubic metres. sSCCL chairman and managing director N. Sridhar congratulated the workers for achieving the highest ever targets.
