Mother sets girl afire for dropping flour

Nine-year-old girl Radhika is battling for life with nearly 70% burns allegedly after her mother doused the girl in kerosene and set her ablaze at Chinthagudem on city outskirts.

Police said they were verifying reports that the girl's mother Radhika became furious as flour slipped from the girl's hands and fell on the floor.

Angered over this, Radhika allegedly set the girl afire, the police said.

Man hacked to death

Four persons hacked to death, a function hall owner Mansoor Khan, 40, in broad daylight on Bahadurpura main road near the zoo on Saturday.

The victim was riding the bike when Khaled, Babbu, Annu and Ghouse attacked him with knives and axe, said Charminar ACP Ashok Chakarvarthy.

The victim tried to run away but the accused inflicted multiple injuries on him before slitting his throat. Previous enmity was believed to be the motive behind the murder.

Murdered

An unidentified man aged about 40 years was found murdered at an isolated place in Bhagyanagar Phase-III of KPHB colony on Saturday. Killers hit the victim on his head with a blunt object. Victim was clad in a 'lungi' and full sleeve shirt.
