920 gm gold seized at RGIA

Around 920 grams of foreign-origin gold worth ₹28.90 lakh were seized from three persons, who arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport from Dubai by Emirates aircraft EK 526 on Saturday afternoon. Customs officers of the Air Intelligence Unit recovered nine gold kadas and five gold chains from them and said that they concealed the gold in their trouser pockets.

Acting on a tip-off, sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone,in a joint operation with Kanchanbagh police apprehended the gang members as they were transporting the drugs in a car.

The accused were identified as G. Veerabhadram (48) of Mahbubnagar, N. Naresh Kumar (29), T. Trinadh (33), Shaik Nazeer Basha (26), all three from Guntur, and N. Biswas (23) from Malkajgiri.
