₹9 lakh compensation offered to farmers

Land acquisition under GO 123

The government has offered to pay a compensation of ₹ 9 lakh per acre, under GO 123, to farmers willing to sell their land to government for laying of railway line and outer ring road for Gajwel.

Collector P. Venkatram Reddy, Joint Collector Padmakar, GADA special officer M. Hamumantha Rao and RDO Vijayender Reddy held discussions with farmers on the issue at Gajwel on Thursday. While some farmers demanded a compensation of ₹7 lakh to ₹8 lakh some others demanded ₹9 lakh and finally it was decided to pay ₹9 lakh per acre to the farmers. The land will be purchased under GO 123.
