March 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - Hyderabad:

The civic body would need about 249 days to complete the process of delimitation and reservation of wards followed by another 35 days to conduct elections to the civic body.

In a recent submission to the State government, the GHMC listed out the required schedule as 147 days for addressing procedural requirements for delimitation of wards and 102 days for reservation of wards for different categories. The process included 30 days for amendment to increase and rationalise the wards, 45 days for draft proposal preparation, 7 days to call for suggestions and objections from the general public and another 14 days for submission of final proposals.

Electoral roll preparation

This would be followed by 21 days for approval of government and gazette publication and 30 days for going into ward-wise electoral roll preparation.
