Two incidents of attempt to kidnap children in the erstwhile Karimnagar district on Monday and in the early hours of Tuesday has raised the concern of parents.
In Kothapalli village of Jammikunta mandal, a Bengali youth Sathu had tried to abduct twins of G. Chandrashekhar and Sowmya when they were playing in front of their house on Monday, the crying of the kids alerted the villagers who caught the accused. When the accused tried to flee after abducting them, the kids cried alerting the villagers, who caught hold of the accused and thrashed him before handing him over to the police. In the wee hours of Tuesday, in Pedda Kalwala village of Peddapalli mandal an accused from Bihar reportedly tried to abduct daughter of Aleti Venkanna when they were sleeping in the open in front of their house. The girl’s cries alerted the villagers who caught the accused.
Peddapalli DCP T. Sudarshan Goud called upon the people to alert the police if they notice the movement of any suspicious persons in their localities and villages by dialing 100. He also urged the youth to keep a watch on any strangers in the villages and alert the police.
