₹10 crore for Bonalu

The government has announced ₹10 crore for celebrating Bonalu in the twin cities at with much fanfare in the 2,179 registered temples, said Ministers N. Narasimha Reddy, Mehmood Ali and T. Srinivas Yadav and Mayor B. Rammohan and others after holding a meeting with the corporators at the head office of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

They urged the corporators to come up with proposals for taking up various civic works at the temples in their respective divisions so that the money can be utilised. The government was ready to take up work near temples not registered with the Endowments Department too if it was brought to its their notice. Mr. Yadav told presspersons that the government has already sanctioned ₹5 lakh each for the Secunderabad and Golkonda Ujjaini Mahankali Temples for the festival. The civic body will take up all the necessary works of repairing roads, ensuring sanitation and cleanliness near the temples.
