A 19-year-old man has been arrested and a juvenile accomplice apprehended for alleged involvement in the murder of a young factory owner at Alipur in New Delhi in June. The main accused committed suicide about a month after the murder was committed.

Deepak Goyal’s body bearing injuries was found near a farmhouse on June 30. Suspecting the involvement of his friend Vikas, the police tried to trace him. A few days later, he called up the Police Control Room claiming that he had been kidnapped. However, he allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance.

The police then zeroed in one Jitender (29), through his mobile phone records identified a juvenile who during questioning purportedly confessed to his involvement.

He disclosed that on the fateful day, Vikas along with his three accomplices gathered at his factory in Narela and called Deepak there for a drinking session.

When he was in an inebriated state, they beat him to death and then dumped his body near the farmhouse in Alipur and dumped his belongings, including two mobile phones, in a drain.

While Jitender is absconding, the police have arrested another accused Gaurav (19). He purportedly disclosed that the murder was masterminded by Vikas who had taken a loan of Rs.5 lakh from Deepak.

When the victim started pestering him to repay the debt, he allegedly planned to eliminate him.
