: A 21-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and gangraped by three men in Sakatpur village here.
The accused, identified as Jamshed, Mobi and Yusuf, are in their 20s.
On August 20, the trio allegedly abducted her from her home, and took her to a nearby hill. There, they allegedly took turns to rape her.
The victim returned home around 8 a.m. the next day, and told her parents about her ordeal.
Subsequently, a case was registered at the Badshahpur police station.
“The medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape. Her statement has been recorded before the magistrate under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Hawa Singh.
The accused belong to a village in Mewat, where the victim was married three years ago. The woman, however, decided to stay with her parents in Gurgaon after the trio allegedly started harassing her.
The matter was reported to the elders in the village, but the three did not mend their ways, said the victim’s family.
A police officer at the Badshahpur police station said the victim had not made any formal complaint to the Mewat police against the accused for harassing her.
