Weekend feast for food lovers

February 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Foodies looking to have a good time this weekend are in for a treat as a Food Flea Market is being organised by the online community Eat Treat in association with Olive Restaurant at Mehrauli. The market that has been curated by Eat Treat will have stalls by cooks who are excellent at what they do but do not have the resources to set up a restaurant or a kiosk at one of the city’s swanky malls.

Ritik from Eat Treat says there will be a lot of variety on offer from baked treats and health food to a number of people selling jams, sauces and preserves that are not available in stores in the city.

The experience he says will be special because the people participating have not yet been discovered but are extremely good at what they do. Some of the participants are Le Creuset, Anandini Himalaya Tea, Sugarama, Bake walk, Antidote, Bonhomia, Sustainable New Wellness and Juice up. Apart from these stalls, Olive along with Guppi by ai and Soda Bottle Operner Wala will have their stalls open as well.

On Sunday, a French DJ will be playing his tunes at a sundowner event. The experience, says Ritik, is an experience for the entire family. It is also a perfect event to come meet up with friends and spend lots of time eating and having fun.

The flea market is being organised between 12 p.m. and 10 p.m. on February 28 and March 1.

Special highlights of the food market include baked treats and health food
