What do you think went wrong in these polls?

The Modi [PM Narendra Modi] wave was visible in Delhi. However, since we managed to get a few seats, it shows that there is still some hope in this storm. We will reconnect with the people and ask them what went wrong. It’s time to introspect.

Are you disheartened by the results or was the party expecting it?

It came as a shock to us. Till Wednesday morning, we were expecting to win. Our government has worked hard in these two years, but we will have to work harder. We still have three years ahead of us. However, these results have posed some serious questions and we will find solutions to it.

What do you have to say about your party leadership blaming EVM tampering for AAP’s poor performance?

On the surface it seems like the people have not voted for us. However, there are two parts to it. Yes, the EVMs need to be checked as the people are entitled to fair elections. But there is the bigger issue of voters. I plan to visit every house in my constituency and ask people what made them vote for the BJP.

What is the plan now for the party?

We have analysed the results, there is no negativity among the people regarding our work. However, we will strive to improve. We need to introspect on what went wrong. We must strengthen our volunteer base again.
