With light rain lashing the Capital for yet another day on Thursday, Delhiites were faced with the familiar problems of water-logging and traffic jams once again.
The Meteorological Department recorded a total of 7.2 mm of rainfall during the day. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi's central control received eight complaints of water-logging till 3 p.m. In addition, six complaints of tree falling and two complaints of fallen building parts were also received by the civic body.
The areas affected by water-logging included Mori Gate red light, Indraprastha College, ISBT outer gate, Rani Jhansi Road, Paschim Vihar and Ganesh Nagar to Kalyanpuri underpass.
Tree falling complaints were received from Asaf Ali Road, Vasundhara Enclave, Mayur Vihar, IIT flyover to Munirka Road and Tilak Vihar.
According to the Delhi Traffic Police, owing to the water-logging, traffic movement was disrupted at Laxmi Nagar metro station, under Mayapuri flyover, Mori Gate red light, Rani Jhansi Road near Filmistan, Ganesh Nagar underpass to Mother Dairy, ISBT out gate and IP College.
