Two more nabbed in mall employee's abduction case

August 09, 2011 11:27 am | Updated 11:27 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Two young men wanted in connection with the abduction of a shopping mall employee in South Delhi a fortnight ago have been arrested. All the five accused in the case have now been accounted for.

The accused, Deepak (22) and his cousin Arun (23), were arrested near Badarpur metro station on Monday morning following a tip-off, the police said. Deepak's father, a head constable in Haryana Police, was recently dismissed. Both the accused come from well-to-do families owning several acres of agricultural land. Both are graduates and have no previous involvements.

“The two managed to evade arrest for over a fortnight. They kept changing their hide-outs from Chandigarh to Shimla to Karnal while on the run. The stolen mobile phone of the victim has been recovered from them. Both have been sent to judicial custody,” said a senior police officer.

Two of their accomplices, Kartar and Pramod, were arrested on the day of the incident. The third accused, Ravish (22), who is pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration, was arrested on the outskirts of Tigaon village in Faridabad on the intervening night of July 27-28.
