The Delhi Police on Friday arrested three men who allegedly robbed people by posing as women.

Vinay alias Petha, (22), Abhishek alias Ashu (23) and Arjun alias Goga would target people relieving themselves at isolated places in the city, such as Yamuna Khadar, said the police.

Trick of the trade

The accused further said that they would wear women’s clothes to avoid suspicion.

On Friday, the police laid a trap for them in north-east Delhi’s Shastri Park based on a tip-off.

The trio was arrested after a long chase, said the police.

Stolen items recovered

Seven stolen items — six phones and a motorcycle— were recovered from them. The police are looking for the remaining five members of the gang.

They have been identified as Shankar, Monu alias Khet Wala, Vishal alias Chinu, Imran alias Chakka and Chinese.

“Efforts are on to arrest them,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) Ajit Kumar Singla.
