Three African nationals were injured after angry fellow passengers roughed them up over an alleged remark against Indians at the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station here on Sunday. This was preceded by a face-off between the trio and some passengers while they tried to enter a train. The incident occurred around 5 p.m.

“The station was crowded and in the rush to board the yellow line train, one of them was pushed aside. He protested and made a comment against Indians. Some of the passengers then exchanged blows with the foreigners. It stopped with the intervention of security personnel,” said a source. He added that the train had to be stopped due to the fight and those indulged were brought to the police booth at the station. At the booth again the fight resumed and an even larger group attacked the three men, who have come to India for studies. They have been identified as Guviva, Mgapa and Yohan. The injured men were then taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital .
