Senior citizen commits suicide at Laxmi Nagar Metro Station

Identity of the deceased and reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained

A senior citizen allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train at Laxmi Nagar Metro Station on Saturday, the police said.

The police said they received a PCR call at 12.28 p.m. stating that a man had jumped in front of a moving train at Laxmi Nagar Metro Station.

Taken to hospital

The security guards at the Metro station with the help of the police rushed the man to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

The identity of the man and reason behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained. “The man appears to be a Sikh as he was wearing a turban. He is in mid-sixties. No suicide note has been recovered,” said a police officer.
