Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh on Friday said Duty Magistrates will be appointed soon to ensure law and order in their jurisdiction in view of the verdict next week in a rape case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

The Haryana government has sought 35 companies of the Central paramilitary forces to be deployed in sensitive areas as part of its security arrangements.
A special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Panchkula has reserved the verdict in the case for August 25. The case pertains to a former follower accusing the Dera chief of repeatedly raping her inside the Dera campus near Sirsa in Haryana. The alleged incident took place in 1999 and the FIR was registered in 2002.
Holding a joint meeting with the police and the local civil administration officials in this regard, the Deputy Commissioner said senior officers should be informed in case permission is sought for protest or demonstration in the city in connection with the case.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Simarjeet Singh shared the directions received from police headquarters and asked officers to activate their sources. He directed the Assistant Commissioners of Police and Sub-Divisional Magistrates to hold meetings of peace committees in their respective areas and ensure that at least one-third of the staff is present in police stations at night.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also held a meeting with senior police and civil administration officers in Chandigarh to review arrangements. Giving details, Chief Secretary D.S. Dhesi said Mr. Khattar reviewed the arrangements to deal with any situation that may arise out of the verdict in the case.
Sensitive areas
Haryana Director General of Police B.S. Sandhu said adequate arrangements are in place to maintain proper law and order in the State. He said 35 companies of the Central paramilitary forces will reach Haryana by Sunday.
Apart from Panchkula and Sirsa, the forces will also be deployed in other sensitive areas of districts namely Kurukshetra, Ambala, Jind, Karnal, Kaithal, Fatehabad, Hisar and Panipat, he added.
Mr. Sandhu said he and other senior police officers will personally visit Sirsa to review security arrangements.
