Journalists from Tamil newspapers and TV channels sat on an overnight protest outside Tamil Nadu House in Chanakyapuri after they were not allowed entry to interview Chief Minister E. Palaniswami, who had come to Delhi on Thursday.

The scribes said they first waited at the airport for a comment from him but were pushed away by his security. Then they reached Tamil Nadu House, where he was staying, but allegedly were not allowed to enter.

“We were told by the security that they have been ordered not to send any journalists inside. We were not even allowed to use restrooms,” a journalist said.

Women scribes waiting outside for around six hours were forced to use restrooms at the adjacent State guest houses. Around 10 scribes sat in protest outside the gate till 9 a.m. on Friday.

“Officials and AIADMK party members walked past us multiple times but ignored us. They didn’t even bother asking why we were sitting there,” another journalist said.
