Scrap exam held to hire primary teachers, says BJP in memo to L-G

Says question paper had leaked, demands fresh exams

The BJP opposition called on Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal here on Tuesday demanding that the entire examination process related to the Primary Recruitment Test for the post of primary teachers in the three Municipal Corporations of Delhi, held recently, be scrapped.

The examination was conducted by the Delhi government’s Delhi Service Selection Board (DSSSB) on October 29. A BJP delegation to Raj Niwas was led by Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly Vijender Gupta and included BJP MLAs O.P. Sharma and Jagdish Pradhan.

Submitting a memorandum in this regard, Mr. Gupta alleged that the question paper for the said examination was “leaked” and candidates used unfair means to enter the examination centre in addition to solving the question paper.

‘Utter chaos’

“There was utter chaos and mismanagement in conducting the examination. We also demanded a fool-proof examination system for the future,” the LOP said.

In addition to urging the LG to ensure that a fresh exam was conducted at the earliest so that “justice could be ensured” to thousands of deserving candidates, the Rohini legislator also demanded a CBI inquiry so that the “real culprits” behind the alleged discrepancies were caught and brought to justice.

The L-G, according to the LOP, assured it that “appropriate action will be taken shortly” to ensure justice to deserving candidates and ensure fair examination system. “The Delhi Government took over a month to realise the gravity of the situation. The long silence of the government highlights its intention to cover up the misconduct and mismanagement of its DSSSB,” Mr. Gupta alleged.
