It was a sunny Saturday morning in Delhi with the minimum temperature recorded at 25 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season’s average. The Met Office has forecast spells of rain in the day.

“The sky will be partly cloudy with thundershowers in some parts of the city,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 42 degrees Celsius.

Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 31 per cent.

The city received 0.6 mm rainfall since Friday.

Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds Friday evening brought some relief from the soaring temperatures to Delhiites but disrupted the Delhi Metro services and power supply in some areas of the city.

Friday’s maximum temperature was recorded at 43.7 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average. The minimum temperature was recorded at 29.1 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average.
