Around 24 lakh consumers of BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) in south and west Delhi will benefit from the Bharat QR code while paying electricity bills. The BSES said on Wednesday that this will be India’s first Bharat QR code-enabled payment facility for electricity bills.

“While paying electricity bills, customers will get a minimum cashback of 10% [and maximum of up to ₹75] per Bharat QR code transaction. The cashback offer will continue till February 28,” a BSES statement read.

To avail the service, consumers needs to open the mobile app of their bank, scan the QR code printed on the front of the electricity bill. The CA number and due amount will automatically get registered in the system before payment is made.
