A 28-year-old woman was allegedly smothered by her “psychopath” husband inside their house in Modinagar, Ghaziabad, on Friday.
The police said that the accused Krishan, went to the police station early on Friday and confessed to having killed his wife, Kavita Kumari, while she was asleep in their house in Bhupendra Puri colony.
“A police team reached the house and found the body on the bed. There were fingermarks on her neck,” said a senior police officer. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
The accused has been taken into custody but he is constantly changing his statement, the police added.
Two children
Following the incident, the victim’s father registered a police complaint against Krishan and alleged that he was a psychopath.
“We have registered an FIR against him. According to the deceased’s kin, Krishan is a psychopath and has been under stress for quite a long time now,” the officer added.
Kavita and Krishan got married in 2007 and have two children.
