Protest over AUD cut-offs

July 08, 2017 12:54 am | Updated 12:54 am IST - New Delhi

Members of the Krantikari Yuva Sangathan, along with students from government schools, protested outside Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) on Friday against the high cut-offs. They also protested against English being the only medium through which entrances for post-graduate courses are held.

20% relaxation sought

“Being a State university, AUD should keep in mind students from government schools. What is the point of reserving seats for candidates from the Capital if these aspirants are unable to apply?” said Harish Gautam of the KYS.

The protesters have called for the cut-offs to be relaxed for students from Delhi government schools. “We are asking for a 20% relaxation in cut-offs for each course for students from Delhi government schools. They should be given a fair chance,” added Mr. Gautam.
