Poor show in AAP Ministers’ own constituencies

April 27, 2017 01:37 am | Updated 01:37 am IST - New Delhi

The AAP Ministers in the Delhi government could do little to salvage the party in their constituencies.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also holds the finance and education portfolios, could manage only one seat — Vinod Nagar — from his constituency in east Delhi’s Patparganj. In Babarpur — Gopal Rai’s constituency — the AAP managed to retain Subhash Mohalla and Kardam Puri. The party lost Babarpur and Janta Colony.

Party losing hold?

In Karawal Nagar, which is Water and Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra’s constituency, the AAP retained Khajoori Khas and Sri Ram Colony. Sonia Vihar, Karawal Nagar (West) and Sadatpur went to the saffron party.

In north Delhi’s Shakur Basti, which is Transport and PWD Minister Satyendar Jain’s constituency, the party lost all three wards.
