Passenger held for carrying live bullets

A passenger was arrested from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Thursday for carrying live bullets in his baggage.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel detected 12 live rounds of .22 caliber at the airport at 2.58 pm. “Assistant Sub Inspector Fred Yembem of CISF was deployed at screening point of terminal-3 During screening through X-ray Baggage Inspection System (X-BIS), he detected 12 live rounds of .22 caliber from the bag of Mr. Amanpreet Singh,” said a CISF spokesperson.

Mr. Singh was on his way to Moscow by an Aeroflot flight and after being enquired by CISF officials, the passenger allegedly could not produce valid documents for carrying the ammunition.
