Parking woes: court summons Noida official

The CEO of Noida Authority has been asked to appear before the Allahabad High Court on April 20 and submit “some plan for multi-level parking in every sector” to ease traffic congestion in the city.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice D. B. Bhosle and Justice Yashwant Verma passed the order on Monday on a petition moved by Shrikant Vaidya, a Noida resident who had drawn the court’s attention towards the lack of adequate parking facilities in the city.

Report not submitted

On March 23, the court had directed the Noida Authority to submit a report on “sector-wise” feasibility of constructing multi-level parking lots. The report, however, was not submitted.

The respondent’s counsel had said “multi-level parking lots in every sector is not possible as Noida is an old city”.
