One dead, five injured in accident

An auto rammed a truck in the early hours of Tuesday at Pul Prahladpur

A man was killed and five others injured when an auto-rickshaw rammed a truck in the early hours of Tuesday in south-east Delhi’s Pul Prahladpur. The police have registered a case and started a probe.

Udai, Bittu, Symon Mishra, Mukesh, Rajesh and auto driver Rahul were on the way to Tughlaqabad from Sangam Vihar when the their vehicle rammed a truck on Mathura-Badarpur Road.

“The police control room received a call regarding the accident at 2.20 a.m. A team reached the spot and found that an auto and a truck had met with an accident. One of the six persons injured in the accident died later,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east) Chinmoy Biswal. All injured persons were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where Udai was declared brought dead. He was a parking valet at PVR Saket.

Three still unconscious

“Bittu, Rahul and Symon are still unconscious and unfit for statement but Mukesh and Rajesh were discharged after treatment,” he said.

The police have registered a case under Sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 304A (causing death by negligence), and are investigating the matter.
