Always surrounded by material needs concerning housing and developing smart cities, DDA vice-chairman Balvinder Kumar chose to assess the abstract. Known to be an able administrator, Mr. Kumar has penned a book titled Manav Ki Adhayatmik Yatra .
The book was released on Saturday by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar here. Published by Prabhat Prakashan, the book has also been released in Braille.
Mr. Kumar said he chose to write on spirituality to put together thoughts on ideas and processes that govern human life. While releasing the book, he said he was deeply influenced by a survey according to which a mere four per cent of people work for others while a whopping 70 per cent are engaged in daily routine of promoting and fending for self and their families.
“I have tried to delve into the ‘why me’ syndrome when many of us ask why us in the face of adversity. I have written about the spiritual aspect of life and human mind,” said Mr. Kumar.
An IAS officer of U.P. cadre, Mr. Kumar is also a painter. After launching the book, Sri Sri shared how spirituality and the Indian system of yoga is spreading across the world. S. Rungta, the first blind advocate in the country to be designated a senior advocate, was also a guest at the event.
