A day after an Ola cab driver was allegedly beaten up by some Africans for refusing to accommodate more than four people in his car, investigators said they have identified all the suspects in the case. All of them are yet to be traced.
The police have already arrested Nefa, a 26-year-old woman from Rwanda. She was caught by the driver with help from truckers passing by.
Misleading investigators
Nefa, whose visa reportedly expired a month ago, allegedly tried to conceal details about her five accomplices by giving fake mobile phone numbers and address. She also told the interrogators that she had met them briefly during a party.
However, under sustained interrogation she revealed that she had known them for quite sometime.
Nefa also tried getting away by claiming that she did not know Hindi or English. “When we arranged for a translator, she was able to converse in Hindi,” said an officer. Though police said that all the six suspected assailants are Africans, they refused to reveal their nationality. “It is a matter of time before they are nabbed,” said a senior officer.
