Delhi University announced its sixth admissions cut-off list for Other Backward Classes candidates on Wednesday. There are vacant OBC seats in a number of courses in many colleges especially for Commerce and Humanities.
OBC candidates making the cut can seek admission on July 15 and 16. A seventh list may be released on July 17. To make sure that colleges fill their OBC seats, the university has asked colleges to put on hold the conversion of vacant OBC seats to open seats and has also made provisions for the release of a sixth and seventh list for OBC candidates only.
The sixth list sees Delhi College of Arts and Commerce continuing with its fifth list cut-offs for both B.Com and B. Com (Honours) at 79.5 per cent to 81.5 per cent and 83-86 per cent respectively. Hans Raj College is offering B.A. Programme at 68 per cent, down by two percentage points compared with previous list, B.Com (Hons) at 87.25 per cent to 89.25 per cent down by one percentage point and History (Hons) at 76.25 per cent to 79.25 per cent same as the previous list.
B. Com (Hons) is still available at Hindu College at 86.25 per cent, 1.25 percentage points lesser compared with the previous list.
There is no change in the OBC cut-off for English (Hons) from the fifth admission cut-offs. Quite a few courses are available at Kamala Nehru College. Lady Shri Ram College too is offering several courses at marginally lower cut-offs. Kirori Mal College is offering History (Hons) at 73.5 per cent to 82.75 per cent.
B.Com, Economics, History and Hindi (Hons) are being offered by Ramjas College at roughly the same cut-off. Economics (Hons) is still available in Shri Ram College of Commerce at 90.5 per cent to 93.5 per cent less by 0.50 percentage points compared with the previous list. At Sri Venkateswara College, the difference compared with the previous cut-off is one to two percentage points for available courses in Commerce and Humanities.
Lesser seats are vacant in Science courses. Physics, Zoology, B. Sc. Physical Sciences and B. Sc. Life Sciences are available in Deshbandhu College at 69 percent, 58 per cent, 52 per cent and 53 per cent respectively reflecting a drop of three percentage points only in Zoology (Hons).
Botany and Zoology (Hons) are available at Gargi College at 61 per cent and 64 per cent and B. Sc. Physical Sciences and B. Sc. Life Sciences are in offer too. These courses are also available at Hans Raj College. Zoology and Statistics (Hons) are still on offer in Hindu College. Kirori Mal College is still offering Physics at 82-83.67 per cent less by two percentage points and Chemistry (Hons) at 80-82.33 per cent. Physics (Hons) is also available at Miranda House and Lady Shri Ram is still offering Mathematics and Statistics (Hons). Science courses available at Sri Venkateswara College include Chemistry, Botany and Bio-Chemistry (Hons).
