Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital nurses started a hunger strike from Thursday to protest against the alleged harassment of the nursing personnel by the hospital’s Medical Director.

Letter to Delhi govt

“The nurses, belonging to the Delhi Hospital and Employees and Nurses’ Union, have cited a letter issued by the Medical Director on Tuesday to union general-secretary Molly Das ‘surrendering her services as they are not required in the hospital’ as the latest case of harassment of nurses. The union has demanded immediate revoking of the letter given to her as it is nothing but part of the ongoing harassment of nurses,” said union president Prem Lata Singh.

Hospital authorities remained unavailable for comment. The union has written to the Delhi Principal Secretary (Health) seeking his intervention in the matter. It also urged the Principal Health to initiate appropriate action the accused.
