Notices to three schools

January 11, 2012 01:11 pm | Updated July 25, 2016 08:18 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

The Delhi Government has issued show-cause notices to Army Public School, Air Force School and Naval School for violation of nursery admission norms, Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said in the Delhi Assembly on Tuesday.

Answering a question by BJP MLA Karan Singh Tanwar, the Minister said notices have been issued to these schools for violating admission norms.

“I agree with you that these schools are not following the norms stipulated by the Right to Education Act. We have asked them to formulate and follow admission criteria. The parents should know the eligibility grounds so that there is no discrimination,” he said.

Mr. Lovely said the notices are returnable within the next few days and thereafter, on the basis of the response of these schools, further action would be taken.

“If there is no reply, we will even consider derecognising them,” he declared.
