The Delhi Government has permitted registration of sale of properties on private lands in unauthorised colonies and will open registration in those 895 colonies whose regularisation was approved by it last year.
First phase
Speaking in the Delhi Assembly on Friday, Revenue and Urban Development Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said: “In the first phase, the government has granted permission for registration of sale in transfer of properties in respect of private khasra lands in recently regularised unauthorised colonies.”
Mr. Lovely, who tabled the order in the House, categorised private land in unauthorised regularised colonies into four components: private land – owned by private individuals, land notified for acquisition but where no award has been passed, awarded land – the notified land but where possession of such lands has not yet been taken over and compensation has not been paid, and the vested Gaon Sabha land where physical possession is with private owners.
The government will issue a detailed land status of unauthorised colonies outlining khasra-wise private and government lands in the unauthorised colonies that have been recently regularised, he said. “While the order for commencing development work in 91 unauthorised colonies was issued on January 17, orders have been issued for taking up development work in 40 more unauthorised colonies,” Mr. Lovely said.
The government has thus covered close to 950 unauthorised colonies out of the 1,218 unauthorised colonies which were issued provisional regularisation certificate in the year 2008, he added.
