Nigerian arrested for supplying cocaine in Capital

A 49-year-old man of Nigerian descent has been arrested for his alleged involvement in supplying cocaine across the Capital, the Crime Branch said.

The police learnt during investigation that Stanley Martins Uzoma had also been staying in India on an expired visa.

Stanley was nabbed in Prashant Vihar on Tuesday when he came to deliver a consignment to one of his customers. But the customer didn’t turn up.

Forty-seven gram of cocaine was recovered from him, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime).

The police said a raid at his rented accommodation at the Khirki Extension led to the recovery of his passport and business visa which had expired in January this year.

Stanley had come to India in December 2009 to try his luck in businesses. His own business of agro-chemicals back in his country was not doing well. He came in touch with some drug suppliers in Mumbai in August last year. The quick money promised in the drug business lured him. Since then, he had been supplying cocaine in South and North Delhi, Mr. Yadav claimed.
