The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Tuesday heard a petition by some members of the Art of Living, who contended that events like the World Culture Fest (WCF) cannot be stopped under the “Right to Live With Dignity” as guaranteed by Article 21 of the Constitution.
The counsel appearing for the petitioners said religious events like the Kumbh Mela, Chhath Puja, and so on were all held on riverbeds and one can not stop people from engaging in such rituals.
The panel was hearing concluding remarks from the counsel and the matter has been listed for later this week.
