The New Delhi Municipal Council on Monday launched ten stainless steel water trolleys for weddings, and religious and social gatherings.

NDMC chairperson Jalaj Srivastava flagged off the trolleys, which cost the civic body Rs.76 lakh. The five-kilo-litre-capacity trolleys are made of 4mm steel sheets and are resistant to corrosion.

These trolleys are supplied free of cost by the NDMC at sites of demonstrations and religious functions. For weddings and social gatherings, they can be rented for Rs.450.

The NDMC is also planning on adding 10 more water tankers to its current fleet of 10 in the financial year 2015-2016. The nine-kilo-litre-capacity tankers will be procured at a cost of Rs.2.98 crore, said the NDMC in a statement.
