The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started an internal inquiry to find the person responsible for playing a porn clip at the Rajiv Chowk metro station on April 9.

Though the department is questioning its staff for the “mischief”, it said that there is also a possibility of some outsiders’ involvement in it.

Sources from DMRC told The Hindu that CCTV footage has shown a few people suspiciously lingering around the transmission centre.

Since these screens were newly installed and were being tested by an outside company, the security systems were not in place and such a breach was possible.

“Every one, from DMRC's permanent to contractual staff is being questioned. The staff members who were on duty at Rajiv Chowk around that time are especially being asked if they saw someone or were involved,” an official said.

Preliminary DMRC investigation revealed that the incident took place around 5 p.m. on April 9.

These screens are used for advertisements and information dissemination such as platform numbers and train timings.

Strict punishment

The sources said that the plan is to impose strict punishment on the culprits. The police are also running a parallel investigation.

The porn clip, which played on the advertisement screen for around a minute, shocked many Metro commuters.

A few even recorded the video in the mobile phones and circulated it on social media, where it went viral.
