MCD to award 100 teachers on Sep 5

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi will award 100 MCD teachers for their services in the field of education on September 5.

The awards, to be conferred on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, will comprise a cash prize of Rs. 7000, a commendation certificate and a memento.

Mahendra Nagpal, Chairman of MCD Education Committee, said among the awardees, 20 are headmasters, 72 general teachers and five nursery teachers while one each have been teaching in disciplines of physical education, music and arts.

MCD is imparting education to about 9.7 lakh students in the 5-11 age bracket through its chain of 1,746 primary schools, 33 nursery, 44 aided and 712 recognised schools with the help of about 18,000 teachers.
