Acting against unauthorised constructions, the MCD on Wednesday demolished illegal portions of seven properties in north Delhi amid protests by residents.
The action was taken in Nimri Colony, Ashok Vihar and Rani Bagh areas of Rohini Zone.
“The Building Department successfully completed demolition action in these areas with the help of local police despite stiff resistance from public,” an official said.
The MCD started acting tough against unauthorised constructions after a building with illegal floors collapsed in east Delhi in November last year killing 71 people.
