In view of the ‘severe’ air quality in Delhi and the National Capital Region, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) distributed 8,000 masks to its personnel on Tuesday.

Assistant Inspector General Hemendra Singh said that the air quality is becoming toxic by the day, which is why masks were given to officers deployed in open areas such as the Delhi airport, metro and government buildings.

“CISF director general O. P. Singh directed that the masks be distributed given the severity of the air quality,” said Mr. Singh.

“The CISF will also render medical help to any personnel who complains of respiratory problem,” he added.
