October 13, 2013 12:37 pm | Updated 12:37 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

A young Nepali national has been arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch for allegedly smuggling high quality hashish into the country. The police claim to have seized seven kg of hashish from him.

Acting on a tip-off that a drug trafficker would come near Tibetan Market on Ring Road to meet a client on Wednesday, the police laid a trap and arrested Om Gurung (36). He had been living in Wazirabad.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had procured the contraband from his contact in Nepal to supply to his clients in the Capital. In the recent past, he had brought two such batches of the contrabands and made huge profits.

According to the police, Om came to the Capital in 2008 and initially worked as a street vendor.
