A 21-year-old was gunned down and his brother injured by unidentified men who allegedly got angry following an argument over right of way in Kanjhawala here on Tuesday, the police said.
Pradeep and his 30-year-old brother Pawan were on their way to Kanjhawala on a motorcycle from Baprola village at the time of the incident.
Pit on the road
They were near Ranikhera T-point at Ghewra-Kanjhawala Road when a silver-coloured vehicle allegedly honked to signal the brothers to clear the way.
However, Pradeep was unable to clear the way as there was a pit on the road.
This wait is suspected to have angered the car driver, who overtook Pradeep’s motorcycle and started quarrelling with the brothers.
Accused flee
Even as the argument was on, another car passenger exited the vehicle and fired at the siblings. Hearing gunshots, locals rushed to the spot but the accused managed to flee.
Brother in hospital
The brothers were rushed to a nearby hospital, from where they were referred to Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, the police said. Pradeep was declared dead at the hospital, while his brother is undergoing treatment. A manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
