The Special Cell of the Delhi Police claim to have arrested an arms supplier who had a bounty of ₹1 lakh on his head. Four pistols were recovered from his possession, the police said on Friday.
Jeetu Sharma alias Shiv Kumar was arrested near Indraprastha Park on January 5 after the police received a tip off.
“Information was received that Jeetu was often coming to Delhi to supply arms to criminals. On January 5, specific input was received that he would be near Indraprastha Park around 6 p.m. to deliver a consignment,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) P. S. Kushwaha.
During interrogation, the accused told the police that he has been supplying arms for the past five years and had already sold over 250 weapons. “He gets live cartridges from a person in Agra, and weapons from a supplier in Madhya Pradesh,” said Mr. Kushwaha.
