Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Friday visited Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital to take stock of the fully air-conditioned OPD block that has become operational and the newly set up kids play zone.
This was his third visit and on his last visit in April, he had directed the authorities to make the hospital fully operational in a bid to convert it to a model hospital.
Mr. Jung visited the 500-bed surgery block and interacted with the patients. The patients expressed their satisfaction over the care being provided. In earlier visits, the L-G had asked the hospital authorities to improve the seating and queue arrangement of the OPD area which he went on to appreciate on Thursday’s visit.
The quality of upkeep and service of public conveniences now match the best industry standards, he said, adding the patient registration for OPD has improved with short waiting time and comfortable seating.
He also chaired a review meeting with senior officers of various departments and asked them to set up a time period for undertaking work on upgrade of various facilities . While the Medical Superintendent alerted Mr. Jung to people spitting in the corridors of the hospital making the maintenance task difficult, the L-G assured that this issue would be looked into and appealed to the public not to spit on walls .
