Land pooling open for smaller plots too

June 17, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Now even those who have less than two hectares of land will get to participate in the land pooling policy.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung on Tuesday approved further modifications to the land pooling policy of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).

The revised policy states that farmers or land owners having less than two hectares will be given an option to avail transferable development rights (TDR) in the form of 150 floor area ratio (FAR) for their land. “Smaller plots are bound to cause hindrance to the infrastructure facilities that will be created. Thus, the TDR component can be sold to other Developer Entity (DE) or land owner(s) who is having plots of minimum 2 hectare on which the project is being developed within the same zone,” said a DDA official. For DE who avails such TDR, the permissible FAR on that plot shall be 450 instead of 400 as permissible in residential areas.

Besides, a revised policy for misuse by lessee was also approved in the authority meeting held on Tuesday.
