Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal has ordered the completion of the remodelling work at Vasant Udyan Park in south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar by January next year.

On a visit to the park on Saturday, Mr. Baijal also directed the agencies concerned to spruce up the area around the Bara Lao Ka Gumbad, a Tughlaq-era monument located in the Vasant Udyan complex, so as to attract more visitors.

Sewage treatment

The L-G further asked the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to explore the possibility of a sewage treatment facility at the park. “Mr. Baijal also asked the DDA and the Delhi Jal Board to set up sewage pumping stations at the park,” said an official. The park, once developed, would have a playground, jogging and walking tracks, an open gym, toilets, etc.
